The backbone of the cottage garden, Foxgloves (Digitalis) add tall spikes of vertical color to the sunny to partly shaded border and bed. Long, elegantly hooded blooms, often freckled within, make lovely cut flowers and are left alone by deer and other nibbling creatures.
