The lacy-edged leaves of curly endive and the broad leaves of its close relative escarole, are known for their slightly bitter, nutty, buttery taste. Grow both Broadleaf Batavian and Green Curled Ruffec in the same manner as you would your lettuce seeds as they have the same basic requirements. One bonus: Endive is more tolerant of hot weather.
